การใช้ There is และ There are

There is และ There are แปลว่าอะไร

There is และ There are แปลว่า “มี” มีเนื้อหาดังต่อไปนี้

 

1. การเลือกใช้ There is และ There are

การเลือกว่าจะใช้ there is หรือ there are เราจะต้องดูคำนามที่ตามหลัง

        เราจะต้องใช้ there is ถ้าคำนามเป็นเอกพจน์ (singular) และคำนามนับไม่ได้ (uncountable noun)

        เราจะต้องใช้ there are ถ้าคำนามเป็นพหูพจน์ (plural)

 

2. การใช้ There is และ There are ในประโยคบอกเล่า

2.1 There is + ..........(ตามด้วยคำนามที่เป็นเอกพจน์)

2.2 There are + ……….(ตามด้วยคำนามที่เป็นพหูพจน์)

มีนักเรียน 5 คน อยู่ในห้องเรียน

There are many cats in my house.

มีแมวหลายตัวอยู่ในบ้านของฉัน

 

3. การใช้ There is และ There are ในประโยคปฏิเสธ

3.1 There is not + ..........(ตามด้วยคำนามที่เป็นเอกพจน์)

ตัวอย่างประโยค

There is not a pen in my bag.

ไม่มีปากกาในกระเป๋าของฉัน

There is not an apple on the table.

ไม่มีแอปเปิ้ลอยู่บนโต๊ะ

 

2.2 There are not + ……….(ตามด้วยคำนามที่เป็นพหูพจน์)

ตัวอย่างประโยค

There are not three red cars at my office.

ไม่มีปากกาสีแดง 3 ด้ามอยู่บนโต๊ะของฉัน

There are not many kittens in my house.

ไม่มีลูกแมวหลายตัวในบ้านของฉัน

 

3.3 There is not any + ………. (ตามด้วยคำนามที่เป็นเอกพจน์) เพื่อบอกว่าไม่มีสิ่งนั้นอยู่เลย

There is not any teacher in the school.

ไม่มีครูอยู่ในโรงเรียนเลย

There is not any food in the fridge.

        ไม่มีอาหารอยู่ในตู้เย็นเลย

 

3.4 There are not any + ………. (ตามด้วยคำนามที่เป็นพหูพจน์) เพื่อบอกว่าไม่มีสิ่งนั้นอยู่เลย

There are not any doctors in the clinic.

ไม่มีหมออยู่ในคลินิกเลย

There are not any nurses in the drug store.

        ไม่มีพยาบาลอยู่ในร้านขายยาเลย

 

4. ใช้ no หลัง there is และ there are

        4.1 There is no + .......... (ตามด้วยคำนามที่เป็นเอกพจน์)

        ตัวอย่างประโยค

        There is no water in the bottle.

        ไม่มีน้ำอยู่ในขวด

        There is no phone in his house.

        ไม่มีโทรศัพท์อยู่ในบ้านของเขา

       

4.1 There are no + .......... (ตามด้วยคำนามที่เป็นพหูพจน์)

There are no pine apples in the market.

ไม่มีสับปะรดอยู่ในตลาด

There are no animals on the road.

ไม่มีสัตว์อยู่บนถนน

 

5. การใช้ There is และ There are ในประโยคคำถามฃ

        5.1 Is there + ……….? (ตามด้วยคำนามที่เป็นเอกพจน์)

        ตัวอย่างประโยค

Is there a pig in the garden?

มีหมูอยู่ในสวนไหม?

Is there some sugar in the cup?

มีน้ำตาลอยู่ในถ้วยไหม?

 

5.2 Are there + ……….? (ตามด้วยคำนามที่เป็นพหูพจน์) หรือใช้ any ในการตั้งคำถามก็ได้
